Workshop: How can Digital Privacy Reshape the Internet?

Talk and discussion to Define the Challenges to Internet Freedom

Netwerk Democratie hosts the workshop: How can Digital Privacy Reshape the Internet? An Interactive Workshop to Define the Challenges to Internet Freedom. The opening talk will be given by Mr. Prabhat Agarwal – Head of Unit Online Platforms and eCommerce at the European Commission. The workshop is free and will take place online on March 30, at 16.00 hours.

Its purpose is to have young people from across Europe voice their concerns on digital rights protection. Together we will critically assess the Digital Services Act (DSA) package and its effects on freedom of expression and digital privacy.

We are thrilled to announce that the guest speaker will be Mr. Prabhat Agarwal – Head of Unit Online Platforms and eCommerce at the European Commission. As a top expert in the field, Mr. Agarwal had a pivotal role in designing the Digital Services Act (DSA), regulating online marketplaces, social networks, content-sharing platforms, app stores, and online travel and accommodation platforms. In his presentation, he will address the provisions included in the DSA package and their impact on freedom of expression and digital privacy. Together, we will explore how to build a digital space in which fundamental rights of users are protected, while fostering innovation, growth, and competitiveness in the European Single Market.
